Fishing has been a passion for Austin’s whole life, while learning to fish for warm water species in Atchison, Kansas on his family farm, to Fly Fishing freestone and tailwaters in Colorado. Austin truly found the love for the sport from a young age and aims to share the adventure and joy this sport can bring to all. Austin took his passion to the east coast, while attending college as a track athlete at Penn State University and spending time fly fishing throughout the Appalachians.
Â
Currently, Austin is a Fly-Fishing guide with Wonderland Outdoors and Front Range Anglersand guides on tailwaters and freestone rivers throughout the state. Austin is the founder and serves as Executive Director of a nonprofit based in Colorado, Community Fly Fishing. The goal is to create opportunities for individuals who do not have equal access to the sport and the outdoors. Community Fly Fishing provides free 101 sessions, guided outings, river conservation, and guide courses to all.
Community Fly Fishing is an 501c3 nonprofit organization that creates access for people who are looking to experience the outdoors through FREE community-based fly fishing events. Community Fly Fishing works with the Colorado Parks & Wildlife and The Nature Conservancy among other organizations and brands to assist in providing access for participants to learn the art of fly fishing.
